The author’s goal for id|ego is to tempt one’s reflection on modern human’s reliance on technology; to showcase the living history captured in our genetic pedigree; and to remind one of the dual importance of both the id and the ego.  By so doing, we hope to tip the scales back to a balance between two forces that, together, have the power to push our species in a sustainable and responsible direction.

Mark R. Ruzicka is a fledgling urban farmer building his roots in Kansas City, MO.  His foundation of knowledge includes growing up in a large family in the suburbs of Springfield, MO; graduating from Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture; extending his focus on ecological design and sustainability in Philadelphia, PA; and throwing caution to the wind by quitting a “good job” and following a plan decidedly unfavorable to the rational mind.  His composed thoughts are a product of this history and the many interesting ideas that he is lucky enough to have hitched a ride to along the way.
